Cognitive FX
The world's most advanced brain injury clinic — based in Provo, Utah. Cognitive FX has pioneered a data-driven approach to brain injury recovery that is producing results once thought impossible.
Cognitive FX use functional MRI to measure actual brain activity — revealing which areas are over or under-functioning. This creates a precise, personalised map that drives every treatment decision, combining aerobic exercise, cognitive therapy, sensory training, and neuromuscular work to stimulate neuroplasticity.
Unite is proud to partner with Cognitive FX to bring this life-changing care closer to our clients through a dedicated referral pathway.

Dr. Alina K. Fong
& Dr. Mark D. Allen
Dr. Fong and Dr. Allen founded Cognitive FX after recognising that the traditional approach to brain injury — rest and time — was leaving millions of people behind. Armed with expertise in neuropsychology and neuroscience, they built a clinic that treats the brain as a dynamic, healable organ rather than a fixed one.
Their research has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals, and their EPIC treatment protocol is now recognised as one of the most effective interventions for post-concussion syndrome and traumatic brain injury in the world.
"The brain is not a fixed organ. Given the right, targeted stimulus at the right time, it can rewire itself — forming new connections, restoring function, and giving people back the lives they thought they'd lost forever."

A Personal Journey.
A Professional Mission.
Archie Daniels, Unite's founder and CEO, had spent years searching for answers — answers that the medical system had not provided. When he found Cognitive FX, he found what he had been looking for. The questions he had carried were finally met with clarity, and a new chapter began: a chapter of reclaiming his life, starting with beginning treatment at Cognitive FX in Provo, Utah.
Over the course of an intensive week, Archie underwent fMRI brain mapping, aerobic exercise protocols, Dynavision reaction training, cognitive screen therapy, proprioception dome work, and CO₂ suit therapy recovery. That experience became the foundation on which Unite's partnership with Cognitive FX was built.
This isn't a partnership built on a brochure. It's built on a deeply personal journey — and a shared belief that every brain injury survivor deserves access to the very best care the world has to offer.

What the Treatment Involves
fMRI Brain Mapping
Before treatment begins, every patient undergoes a detailed functional MRI scan. Unlike standard MRI, fMRI measures actual brain activity — revealing which areas are over or under-functioning. This creates a precise, personalised map that drives every treatment decision.
EPIC Treatment Protocol
Enhanced Performance in Cognition (EPIC) is Cognitive FX's proprietary treatment system. It combines aerobic exercise, cognitive therapy, sensory training, and neuromuscular work — all sequenced to stimulate neuroplasticity in the exact regions identified by fMRI.
Aerobic Exercise Therapy
Targeted aerobic protocols increase cerebral blood flow and trigger the release of BDNF — a key protein that supports new neural connections. Sessions on the CASCADE treadmill and Rogue Echo Bike are central to every patient's programme.
Sensory & Reaction Training
The Dynavision light board and proprioception dome challenge coordination, reaction time, balance, and spatial processing — retraining neural pathways that brain injury has disrupted.
Cognitive Screen Therapy
Interactive digital exercises target processing speed, working memory, attention, and executive function — with difficulty levels calibrated in real time to each patient's response.
Recovery & CO₂ Suit
CO₂ compression suit therapy supports nervous system recovery between intensive sessions, reducing inflammation and accelerating the healing process.
You Can Go Alone.
Or You Can Go With Unite.
Cognitive FX are already accepting clients — you can apply directly through their website right now. But for many people, especially those without a strong support network, navigating that process alone can be overwhelming. That's exactly where Unite steps in.
Applying Directly to Cognitive FX
- Contact Cognitive FX independently through their website
- Navigate the enquiry and assessment process on your own
- Arrange travel, logistics, and accommodation yourself
- Manage the emotional weight of the process without dedicated support
- Communicate your situation and needs without an advocate
This is a valid path — and many people do it successfully. But for those without a support network, it can be a lot to face alone.
Referring Through Unite
- Unite manages the referral process directly on your behalf
- Your situation is properly advocated — so Cognitive FX understand your full picture
- Emotional support throughout every stage of the journey
- Communication support — so nothing gets lost or misrepresented
- You are never left to navigate the process alone
- Ongoing support before, during, and after your treatment
Particularly valuable for individuals without a strong support network who would otherwise face this entirely on their own.
"No one should have to navigate a life-changing treatment process alone. Unite exists to make sure that every person — regardless of their support network — is properly heard, properly advocated for, and properly supported every step of the way."
